  • Bob Heim

    Kayak and Bike Guide

Bob is a self-proclaimed wilderness freak. He rediscovered mountain biking in his 40’s while undertaking a no-driving challenge. He commuted back and forth from work on his son’s too-small hardtail and fell in love with riding bicycles. Since then, Bob has dropped 60 pounds and restored his health. “Riding bicycles in the woods,” he says, “has probably saved my life.” Bob loves sea kayaking, hiking in the Olympics and swimming in Puget Sound. His favorite area in NW Washington is the Buckhorn Wilderness, on the eastern edge of the Olympics. He is passionate about introducing people to outdoor adventure because he’s experienced firsthand the dramatic life-enhancing magic of playing in the wild. Bob lives in Port Townsend. He is married, with 2 fantastic kids. His family also includes 2 very dumb dogs, 2 cats and too many chickens.
